Contexte
Ce projet a vu le jour à l’occasion de ma participation au concours Construir’Acier 2014. Il a été réalisé en duo avec Hugo PRIETO. La consigne unique était la valorisation de la découpe laser sur l’acier.
This project was born thanks to my participation in the Construir'Acier 2014 competition. It was realized in duo with Hugo PRIETO. The unique instruction was the valorization of laser cutting on steel.
concept
Ovili est une chaise trépied qui résulte de plis et de découpes. Nous avions à coeur la valorisation de l’acier au travers de ses propriétés mécaniques et une attention particulière à la limitation des chutes lors des découpes.
Ainsi à l’image d’une origami, les découpes et pliages transforment un dessin 2D en une chaise 3D.
La surface des plaques d’acier est optimisée pour produire moins de 0,5 % de pertes.
Ovili is a tripod chair that results from folds and cuts. We had at heart the valorization of the steel through its mechanical properties and a particular attention to the limitation of the falls during the cuts.
Like an origami, the cuts and folds transform a 2D drawing into a 3D chair.
The surface of the steel plates is optimized to produce less than 0.5% of losses.
